But she’s also dangerous, vindictive and cruel. My Dad read the Narnia books to me as bedtime stories when I was a kid and although I didn’t realise it at the time, Jadis taught me the value of a villain who follows through. As a reader, there’s a big difference between seeing the evil act and simply hearing about it.
